If you’re looking for a cozy spot to grab a bite or enjoy a warm beverage in Carrickfergus, look no further than Rumours Coffee House. Located at 7AF, 1 High St, Carrickfergus BT38 7AX, United Kingdom, this charming cafe offers more than just a delicious menu. It’s the kind of place that feels like home the moment you step inside.

Whether you're after a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or a treat to pair with your coffee, Rumours Coffee House has something to suit every taste. What sets it apart is not just the food but the inviting atmosphere, where locals and visitors alike feel welcome to linger over a cup of coffee or tea while catching up with friends or relaxing on their own.

On my last visit, I was immediately struck by the inviting vibe-comfortable seating, bright decor, and the soft hum of conversation. The staff, always friendly and attentive, greeted me with a warm smile, making me feel at ease right away. It’s clear that Rumours Coffee House is committed to providing an exceptional customer experience, which is one of the reasons it has become a beloved spot in Carrickfergus.

The menu at Rumours Coffee House is an exciting mix of traditional and contemporary choices. If you’re in the mood for something filling, their breakfast selection offers everything from classic eggs and bacon to a delicious veggie option that even non-vegetarians would enjoy. I opted for the eggs benedict, and it didn’t disappoint. The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise sauce creamy and rich, and the whole dish was served with a side of freshly made potatoes that added the perfect crunch.

For lunch, the sandwiches and wraps are popular choices, especially when paired with one of their freshly brewed coffees. One standout is the smoked salmon and avocado sandwich, which balances flavors and textures beautifully. The quality of the ingredients is evident, and the bread is always soft yet sturdy enough to hold the filling without falling apart.

And of course, no visit to Rumours Coffee House would be complete without trying their cakes and pastries. The selection varies, but there’s always something tempting on display-whether it’s a slice of indulgent chocolate cake, a fresh fruit scone, or their ever-popular cinnamon rolls. On my visit, I tried the lemon drizzle cake, which was light, zesty, and just the right amount of sweetness. It was the perfect complement to my coffee.

Speaking of coffee, Rumours Coffee House is known for serving some of the best brews in Carrickfergus. The coffee beans are freshly ground, and the baristas know exactly how to prepare the perfect cup. Whether you prefer a classic cappuccino, a frothy latte, or a rich espresso, you’ll find something to suit your preferences. If you’re more into tea, there’s a great selection available as well, from traditional black tea to herbal blends.

Aside from the food and drinks, the overall experience is what makes Rumours Coffee House stand out. The cafe has a relaxed, unpretentious vibe that invites you to take your time and enjoy the moment. It’s the kind of place where you can sit for hours, working on your laptop, reading a book, or just chatting with friends.

One of the other things that makes Rumours Coffee House special is its connection to the local community. They often host events, from live music nights to special themed gatherings, making it a great place to connect with others. It’s clear that the owners care about creating a welcoming space that goes beyond just serving food-they want to be a place where memories are made.

Nice place right by the ocean and the castle. There is lots of parking nearby and it’s easy to get to. The menu is simple but has something for everyone. We stopped in on vacation and were served quickly by friendly staff.

Could not recommend enough. Rumours gave us Soup and a Panini. They were both piping hot and just what we needed for a cold Monday afternoon. Service was friendly and attentive.

Friendly staff with quick service. Pricier side to an iced coffee, Its cheaper in NY & London to buy one but considering its near a tourist attraction (The castle) you can let it slide.
